Description

This presentation describes the GEF-funded project that addresses the following objectives: 1. Determine how livestock farmers make decisions on land use changes to benefit from PES; (will PES increase tree cover on livestock farms?)

2. Determine the impacts of PES: C sequestration, biodiversity and water resources; and livelihoods of rural poor

3. Develop methodology for PES

The study was conducted in Colombia, Nicaragua, Costa Rica to assess livestock farmer implementation of silvopastoral systems with PES, PES and technical assistance, or control group (no PES or technical assistance).
