Description

The presentation shows the International Development Enterprises’ low cost drip irrigation system with an application in Cambodia.

Summary FROM PRESENTATION: Global climatic changes result in uneven distribution of water, by either scarcity of water (drought) or excess water (flood) in many regions of the world. Water is increasingly becoming a scarce resource even in humid tropics. There is a need to develop technologies that promote efficient use of water and fertilizers in vegetable production. Drip irrigation developed in early days was a labor-saving practice. It is now an imperative technology for managing water and nutrients in a soil-rhizosphere system.
