Description

Water will be a main global NRM concern into the 21st century. One fifth of the worlds population still lacks access to safe drinking water and 50% lack adequate sanitation(some 80% of disease in

developing countries carried by water); all agriculture depends heavily on water, and more so each year as irrigation expands. In many parts of the developing world, the situation has become worse rather than better. This presentation described Integrated Watershed Management (IWM) and its implications for SANREM.

Also available as a conference paper.
