Abstract: Compared to other regions of the world, Africa has much less watershed-based PES activity. This presentation summarizes existing and proposed initiatives on the continent, contrasts them with initiatives taking place in other parts of the world, and speculates about reasons for Africa’s lower level of watershed-based PES activity.
