Description

This paper evaluates 15 current Payment for Watershed Services (PWS) schemes in Asia, most of which are just beginning. High population density and the legal context of state control of most land are significant factors in Asia that may be barriers to PWS development. The reviewed PWS programs are in China, Nepal, Vietnam, the Philippines, India, and Indonesia.
