Livestock Innovation Lab Funded Participatory Film “Maasai Voices on Climate Change (And other changes, too)” wins Society for Visual Anthropology Award
The 10-minute participatory documentary “Maasai Voices on Climate Change (And other changes, too),” funded by the Livestock Innovation Lab, received the Jean Rouch Award for Collaborative Filmmaking by the Society for Visual Anthropology, a division of the American Anthropological Association. The film was created by pastoralists from the Maasai Mara, Kenya, to share stories about seasonal and climactic variability. The documentary was developed under the Livestock-Climate Change Innovation Lab project Pastoralist Transformations to Resilient Futures: Understanding Climate from the Ground Up and was coordinated by Joana Roque de Pinho (Instituto Superior de Ciências Sociais e Políticas, Lisbon, Portugal) and Nicolas Tapia (Colorado State University).
