CRSPs to host side event and exhibit at the World Food Prize
The CRSPs will host an exhibit booth and a side event at the upcoming World Food Prize in Des Moines in October.
The side event “Harnessing US University Partnerships for Climate Smart Agriculture: The USAID-funded Collaborative Research Support Program” will showcase the efforts of the Collaborative Research Support Programs (CRSPs) and their partners to develop “climate smart” agricultural techniques for small farmers in developing countries. Their research and development efforts include approaches such as conservation agriculture; breeding for new drought, flood, or pest and disease resistant varieties; integrated pest management; holistic range management; post-harvest products related to storage and processing; and integrated food systems such as fish and rice cultivation, as well as innovative market-oriented strategies and farmer insurance.
The side event is currently scheduled for the morning of Wednesday, October 17.
