The external evaluation team in their external evaluation report recommended that the SMOG/INTSORMIL CRSP continue for the coming four years and recommends that the current management entity (ME) continue to lead the SMOG CRSP during a transitional period of two years. During the transition, the report recommends that the Board and the ME undertake steps toward becoming a leader of a global program.

The external evaluation team included Hailu Tefera (Team Leader), International Institute of Tropical Agriculture; Jeff Dahlberg, Kearney Agricultural Research & Extension (KARE); and Melinda Smale, Michigan State University.
