Animal Source Foods and Child Cognitive Development: A USAID Success Story of University Research to Private Sector Implementation

Associate Vice President for International Development at APLU and former GL-CRSP Director Montague Demment will participate in the USAID/Agrilinks event, “Animal Source Foods and Child Cognitive Development: A USAID Success Story of University Research to Private Sector Implementation”.

The presentation will focus on a series of USAID-funded studies and projects, including work done under the Human Nutrition CRSP and the Global Livestock CRSP, that have demonstrated success in improving children’s diet quality and cognitive development through access to animal source foods.

FSN Network Knowledge Sharing Meeting

Two CRSP Directors will be participating at the FSN Network Knowledge Sharing Meeting taking place November 13-15 in Washington, DC.

Horticulture CRSP Program Director Dr. Elizabeth Mitcham will join the Wednesday afternoon panel on “Strengthening Farmer Seed Management and Storage-Increasing Resilience.”She will highlight Horticulture CRSP work on seed drying and storage systems, as well as how these and other technologies could be used for the drying and storage of grains, legumes, fruits and vegetables.

Dr. Patrick Webb, Program Director for the Nutrition CRSP Asia Program will also be speaking at the event, and his session will take place on Wednesday morning.
