BASIS AMA Research Program Request for Research Proposals
The BASIS Assets and Market Access Collaborative Research Support Program is a virtual institute comprised of researchers from around the globe that operates in support of USAID’s Bureau for Food Security. The goal of BASIS is to build resilience and assets for food security by designing and rigorously testing financial technologies and other complementary innovations that lay the foundation for inclusive agricultural growth. In this round of proposals BASIS will give special priority to USAID Feed the Future focus countries.
BASIS invites researchers from US Universities to submit proposals for research project of up to four years. Project awards are expected to average approximately $700,000. Projects must be collaborative and have genuine linkages with researchers in the country where research takes place, and contribute to capacity building in the host country. Proposals must be submitted by 8 April 2013 and final selection decisions will be made by 1 May 2013. Project implementation may begin immediately at that time.
If you wish to apply for a grant, you must submit a letter of intent no later than 1 March 2013.
