Objectives
1. Develop and release bean cultivars with improved adaptation to lowland agro-ecological zones in Central America, the Caribbean and the U.S. 2. Increase web blight, rust, and BCNM and BGYM resistance in beans using recurrent selection, inter-specific crosses and marker-assisted selection. 3. Increase resistance to terminal drought in bean lines for rain-fed bean growing areas in Central America and the Caribbean.
