Overview

The Mexico Nutrition CRSP research was conducted during 1982-1986 in six small, neighboring communities located in the rural Solis Valley of central Mexico. The project sought to investigate the relationship between food intake and several functional measures important in human life, including physical growth and psychological development, activity, morbidity, and pregnancy outcome. The research was designed to provide a strong basis for understanding the relationship of diet to several human functions. A longitudinal design was adopted in an attempt to strengthen any argument of causation.
