The fourth annual Fish Farmers Symposium & Trade Fair gave fish farmers in Uganda a unique opportunity to network, learn new skills and check out the latest in aquaculture equipment and products. The event was sponsored by the Walimi Fish Farmers Cooperative Society (WAFICOS) with USAID support. The annual symposiums are a key element of the USAID-WAFICOS partnership, and adoption rates of innovative technologies and best practices presented at the symposia are on the rise among farmers. The goodwill created by the symposium’s accomplishments also helps in establishing collaborative relationships and working towards building a sustainable aquaculture sector in Uganda.
