Overview

Sticky pheromone traps were set up in cowpea fields in the districts of Kumi and Pallisa during the first and the second seasons of 2002. The main objective was to integrate pheromone trapping into optimizing spray regimes in synchrony with onset of Callosobruchus maculatus field infestation. During the entire study period, trap catches yielded no C. maculatus

Objectives

To determine the onset of Callosobruchus maculatus infestation on cowpea in the field to guide determination of spraying regimes.
