Overview
This project researched the impact of aphids on tree tomato in the Tumbaco valley in Ecuador. Aphids are frequent pests of tomato trees and are involved in virus transmission to tree tomato. By identifying the aphid species effecting tree tomato researchers evaluated the population dynamics between aphids and its natural enemies in different contexts. From that researchers correlated the aphid population dynamics with virus incidence.
Objectives
1. Identify aphid species affecting tree tomato. 2. Evaluate the population dynamic between aphids and its natural enemies in three planting densities and a crop system. 3. Correlate the aphid population dynamics with virus incidence.
