Overview
The work plan 2002-2003 (Year 10) continued the focus on consolidation of developmental work and wider dissemination of developed technologies. IPM CRSP has been a catalyst for a number of initiatives in IPM throughout the region and continues todisseminate information on its activities to other Caribbean researchers through the Caribbean Integrated Pest Management Network (CIPMNET).
There are 11 activities under this larger project including:
1. Determination of the best IPM strategy to manage the Lepidoptera complex on callaloo in two major agroecological zones and seasons in Jamaica
2. Integrated Management of Pests Affecting Cruciferous Vegetables 3. Integrated Pest Management of Major Pests affecting Sweetpotato, Ipomoea batatas, in the Caribbean
4. Assessment of Virus Incidence in Superior Caribbean Sweetpotato Varieties 5. Factors Influencing Broad Mite and Predator Populations on Hot Peppers, as Components of a Broad Mite Integrated Pest Management Program
6. An IPM Strategy to Combat the Gall Midge Complex Affecting Hot Pepper 7. Monitoring and Analysis of Introduced Technologies 8. Efficacy of Phosphine Gas in Treatment of Gall Midge on Hot Peppers 9. Molecular Probes to Distinguish Gall Midge Species 10. Monitoring Pesticide Residue Levels on Callaloo and Hot Pepper 11.
