Overview
The study was conducted to determine the impact of the alternative pre-storage curing techniques of bulb onions on yield, household income, and society.
Objectives
To evaluate and project impacts of IPM practices tested in the multidisciplinary field experiments on yield, household income, and society.
Outcomes
Adoption of the pre-storage curing and storage techniques found economical and acceptable will ensure a year-round supply of onions at reasonable prices. No pre-storage curing strategy penalized the consumer or producer sectors. Benefits from the technology were transferred mostly to the consumers as a result of the research-induced shift in the supply curve.
