Description

Abstract: With its large quantities of water and little industry to pollute it, Guyana has the potential to become a greater player in global aquaculture. Collaboration among government agencies, universities, commercial farms and international aid groups is advancing aquaculture in the country. Currently, small farmers produce tilapia, pacu and shrimp for primarily local consumption. Further integration of aquaculture and agriculture has additional potential.
