Description

This presentation is a thorough review of the three USAID-funded collaborative research support programs (CRSPs) at Virginia Tech and the common theme of integrating gender issues into each of their development plans. They include Sustainable Agriculture and Natural Resource Management (SANREM), Integrated Pest Management (IPM), and Peanut CRSP. It discusses the issue of gender and its importance to food security, increasing women’s empowerment and participation in developing countries, lessons learned from the field, and visions of the future for these three programs.
