Description

Abstract: Work in 1989 before-rice growing conditions included generation advanced of 24 F1’s populations and 4 yield trials. The yield trails were a Farm Trial, an Advanced Yield Trial, an Intermediate Yield Trial and a Preliminary Yield Trial. In 1990 work were included generation advanced of 24 F2’s populations and 4 yield trials. The trials were a Farm Trial, an Advanced Yield Trial; an Intermediate Yield Trial and a Preliminary Yield Trial. Results of work in 1989, 69-PYS 107 (C-124) showed yield superiority to Khon Kaen 60-1 18 % in the Farm Trial. No tested cultivar performaned better than check (Khon Kaen 60-1) except Lampang in the Advanced Intermediate and Preliminary Yield Trials. Results in 1990, Tainan 9 and 69 PYS 107 (C-124) showed yield superiority to Khon Kaen 60-1 in the Farm Trial. ICGS (E)-173 was the top cultivar in the Advanced Yield Trial while (Lampang x Argentine 8-3)-4 was the top cultivar in the Preliminary Yield Trial. No cultivar performed better than Khon Kaen 60-1 in the Intermediate Yield Trial. The promising lines were selected for subsequent testing.
