Description

Abstract: Preliminary research using hyper-spectral imaging to improve disease forecasting and determining crop maturity was initiated in 2003 in North Carolina. Although cloudy conditions persisted for much of the

summer and early fall, hyper spectral data were recorded in trials evaluating planting dates; cultivars and

planting patterns; interactions among damage from tobacco thrips, paraquat injury, and Apogee applications; and foliar disease development. Preliminary results from these trials will be discussed.
