Description

Poster. Description: Vermicomposting is an affordable rapid method of processing organic waste with the help of the African night crawler earthworms and turn it into a great natural fertilizer. The used of vermicast is widely promoted to provide cheap sources of organic fertilizer particularly to small holders encouraging farm nutrient cycling, enhancing better household and community solid wastes management as well as achieving sustainable agriculture. Preliminary researches have been done evaluating the nutrients availability of different substrate materials that are locally available but there is still lack of information on agronomic performance of various crops in response to these products.
