Description

This introductory chapter frames the issues of climate and technological change, population growth, and natural resource based conflict. In absence of the state effectively addressing this continued conflict, development assistance has played a major role in West Africa. Through outlining the different roles of development assistance actors, their methods for targeted and participatory interventions, this chapter also sets up an Overview of the SANREM West Africa project and provides a General Overview of the book.
