Overview
This project has consisted of participatory on-farm research on IPM technologies for the management of disease and insect pests of the most important peri-urban horticultural crops (green beans, for export) and the tomato (largely for domestic consumption and potential canning)
Objectives
Coming soon
Outcomes
IPM treatments in green bean production had insect densities and damage levels that were consistently equal to or lower than those in the farmers' practice plots. - IPM treatments in green bean production had growth rates and yields that were more than 10% higher than in the farmers' practice plots, with a reduction of 4-5 chemical pesticides applications per season.
