Overview

This project focused on diffusing new technologies including Striga resistant cultivars in West and East Africa. It also made recommendations to expedite the introduction of these new technologies.

Objectives

1. Estimate the potential effects of new technologies; 2. Identify constraints to their introduction; 3. Recommend complementary policies to accelerate the introduction process.

Outcomes

Three new Striga-resistant cultivars were released in 1999 and 2000.
